Flower Photography can be challenging, but is hugely rewarding. Learn the art of choosing a good subject and battling the wind. Flowers are without a doubt one of the most photographed subjects. ... Unfortunately, many people make fundamental errors when photographing flowers.Flowers are everywhere, and sometimes just the thought of going out to take pictures of their pretty petals can seem downright cliché, because so many people do it. However, one reason flower photography is so popular is because these kinds of pictures can capture incredible beauty, without a great deal of effort.

A Macro Lens is an ideal option, but it is not strictly necessary unless you are photographing really small flowers. You will get beautiful results with a 50mm or 85mm lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.4 or f/2.0 or similar as well.
